Evaluation of burnout and other psychological aspects in medical staff working in the Covid-19 ward and comparison with non-Covid-19 wards

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has put unprecedented pressure on staff, and many are suffering from mental disorders burnout. Objectives: present study aimed to evaluate burnout other psychological aspects in medical staff working the ward comparison with non-Covid-19 wards. Methods: This is a cross-sectional conducted 10 December 2020 16 April 2021 province of Qazvin. A total 384 respondents (187 people wards 197 non- wards) were selected participate using convenience sample method. Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) distributed online all participants. Moreover, sociodemographic data occupational conditions collected analyzed appropriate statistical methods. Results: Medical had significantly higher GHQ scores compared (29.82 ± 11.07 vs. 25.76 11.83, p <.001, respectively). Risk factors associated included jobs nurses, physicians, more shifts (p <.05). In terms subscales, depersonalization, emotional exhaustion, lower individual performance <0.05). subscales female gender, being nurse, physician, having children, confirming an infection, changing during Conclusion: demonstrated that variables, along prevalence Covid-19, can affect consequences be considered as risk factor for each them.
